Thank you to all who attended. We were thrilled to have more than 100 people in attendance – including new and continuing Abramson Scholars and their families, DCPS teachers and officials, Scholar alumni, several Abramson Foundation founders and former board members, and new and returning Abramson supporters. Special thanks to our guest speaker, Dr. David Soo, Policy Adviser to the Under Secretary at the U.S. Department of Education, and to Continuing Scholar Nico Hinkle and his Mentor – former Abramson Scholar and current Board Member – James McClelland, for their inspiring remarks. Finally, a big thank you to Venable LLP and Sodexo Catering for hosting a remarkable evening; to Cox, Graae and Spack Architects for the compelling signage; and, to Venable LLP, Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher LLP, Jenner & Block LLP, and JAMS ADR for their continued hospitality and generosity throughout the year.

2013 marks the Foundation’s 20th year of awarding scholarships to ambitious, high-achieving, financially-disadvantaged, and civic-minded DCPS high school graduates. The Foundation will be celebrating this tremendous milestone by hosting a 20th anniversary event in March 2014, featuring renowned opera singer Denyce Graves. Please stay tuned for more details.

Thank you for supporting and working with us to make a positive difference in our community. To learn more about the Abramson Scholarship Foundation, please visit www.abramsonfoundation.org or email info@abramsonfoundation.org.
