Nahom Tekle, Executive Director
The Abramson Scholarship Foundation is pleased to announce Nahom Tekle as its new Executive Director.
Nahom brings a decade of youth development experience, cultivating the personal and professional growth of high school and college students in Maryland. Nahom’s background as the Executive Director of the BROTHERS Academy and Co Founder of The Business Academy will help further the Foundation’s mission of providing critical financial assistance and comprehensive mentoring to promising DC public high school graduates attending four-year colleges.
Prior to accepting this role, Nahom served as the Director of Community Outreach for a local County Executive campaign, fostering relationships with business and community leaders to develop policy plans for economic development and educational advancement. Nahom also brings four years of finance experience, having managed interest expense modeling for Capital One’s $30 billion Commercial Bank deposit portfolio. Nahom received his bachelor’s degree in
Finance from the University of Maryland, Robert H. Smith School of Business, and certification in Advanced Youth Development from the Montgomery County Collaboration Council for Children, Youth, and Families.
In collaboration with The Abramson Scholarship Foundation’s Board, Nahom will spearhead the
growth of the Foundation’s impact on DC youth, building on the tremendous legacy of Frederick
B. Abramson.
