About the Abramson Scholarship Foundation

The Abramson Scholarship Foundation (ASF) is a nonprofit organization that helps ensure that talented District of Columbia public and public charter school graduates have the opportunity to attend college and the tools to succeed once they get there. Driven by a commitment to equal opportunity, ASF offers students critical financial assistance and comprehensive mentoring to help our Scholars succeed through all four years of college and beyond.

ASF was established as a continuing tribute to the memory of Frederick B. Abramson, a distinguished member of the Washington legal community who had a rich and varied legal career, but was best known for his role as a mentor. Since its inception in 1991, the Foundation has awarded over $1.5 million in scholarships to over 300 students. We currently support approximately 35 Scholars who are at various stages of their college experience.
