We are extremely proud of our current Scholars and our alumni. Our Scholars include aspiring lawyers, accountants, journalists, engineers, doctors, public policy makers, and entrepreneurs. Many of them have overcome significant hurdles to get where they are, and we know they will bring their energy and determination to their chosen fields.
Our alumni have graduated from a vast array of impressive colleges and universities. Many have gone on to pursue graduate studies in law, medicine, journalism, or other fields.
Many of our Scholars continue to give back to the Abramson family through financial contributions, board service, or our mentorship program. As the Foundation has evolved over the past two decades, many Scholars have reached back to help foster a new generation of D.C. students, continuing the legacy of Fred Abramson.
The Abramson Scholarship Foundation currently supports more than 30 students at various stages of their college experience. We welcome a new class of first-year Scholars each spring — meet each class of our remarkable Scholars.

Abramson did not support any college freshmen in 2010, only Continuing Scholars as the Abramson program shifted from supporting students through their first year of college to providing support for all 4 years. Many of the Scholars who started with Abramson during 2008 and 2009 remained with the Foundation throughout their college years.
